If you have a health insurance plan that requires you to have an assigned primary care provider (PCP), your insurance company will automatically assign you a PCP when you sign up for insurance. You can change your PCP at any time directly through your insurance carrier! Typically, this change will take effect at the beginning of the next month.
To change your PCP, you'll need an online account with your insurance carrier if you don't have one already. Once you have an account, it's easy to update your PCP online. You'll just need the name of your physician and their physician ID number.
