If you never received an ID card for your dental or vision coverage, don't worry! Many insurance carriers, including UnitedHealthcare, recently stopped sending physical ID cards for their dental and vision policies. However there are other ways that you can verify your coverage for an upcoming appointment.
If your dental and/or vision insurance is from the same carrier as your medical insurance:
- You can use the same ID number you use for your medical insurance and a provider will be able to pull up your dental and/or vision
If you have a different carriers for medical and dental/vision insurance:
- You can always verify your dental and/or vision insurance by providing your social security number!
